I was just at the doctor yesterday for a couple of shots, one steroid and one pain med, because I just couldn't take it another day. The pain is in my arms from elbow to wrist, and in my hips. I'm ok if I just sit, but who can live like that? This doctor is running blood tests looking for rheumatoid arthritis and lyme disease. I know it sound stupid, but I hope they find something because then I will know where to start in trying to get better.Karenhttp://fabgrandma.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4078059806926332516.post-4321354516152930122009-09-18T21:55:28.820-05:002009-09-18T21:55:28.820-05:00Thank you Cricket for the information. Most doctors today only treat the symptoms--they give us medications that don't do anything towards healing.

I was never such an advocate of changing the diet to heal the body as I am now. And that is because I have seen and felt for myself how much better I feel and how much better off I am by not eating wheat, and other things that hurt my body.

We as a society have become drug dependent--all we want from our doctors is a pill to make us feel better because it is too difficult to do the right things. Most people never will understand that.

I have preached gluten free to my daughter for my grandson who as been labeled with Aspergers syndrome, but she resists. She is talking about putting him on ritalin. How in the heck can you just accept a pill like that without ruling out things in the diet is beyond me!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11731276173410889180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4078059806926332516.post-72152120368497614982009-02-25T21:24:00.000-06:002009-02-25T21:24:00.000-06:00I really admire how strong you are. Doctors push meds, which is just putting a band aid on the problem. I'm glad that you are at a good place and that you are feeling better. You are an amazing person and a wonderful aunt! My naturopath wanted all potential inflammatory foods out of my system. I continued the elimination diet along with herbs, homeopathy and other supplements until she saw I was making progress. Then slowly we added back some of the foods. We added them slowly to see how I felt eating them now that my body had a chance to see what it was like without them. I did okay with nightshade although I still try not to eat several times a week, dairy and gluten made me sick to my stomach so I still avoid those, coffee also caused stomach upset and my nose to twitch. Sugar also causes my nose to twitch and causes joint pain if I consume too much. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions and good luck.
