Good News in Regards to My Hair

I am not sure when or for what reason, but the shedding of my hair from the Methotrexate seems to have slowed down.  When I first started back on Methotrexate I had a lot of hair shedding as I did the entire time I was on it in the past.  Every time I ran my fingers through my hair, brushed my hair out, or took a shower large amounts of hair would come out.  I have noticed for some weeks now that the amount of hair coming out is pretty much normal again.  I don't know what made this change, but I am not complaining!

  1. Glad to know that you're not shedding as much anymore, Cathy! (grins) I have the same issue with Arava -- and recently, I've stopped losing quite so much hair, too. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it might have something to do with the change of seasons. Like the dogs, I'm not shedding as much as I do in the summertime ... heheheheheh.

Anyhoo, great news. It's frustrating to run a brush through your hair and have it full of lost hair each time. Hope this finds you continuing to feel great, too. ;o)

  2. Wren, I never thought about the change of seasons playing a part. Good thinking! I will now think of myself in dog terms. :)

Woo-hoo to your hair slowing down also. That is excellent news.

Yes, I am feeling great today. Thanks. I hope the same for you.

  5. Good news. It's amazing what your body can adjust to isn't it? I have taken MTX for 7 years and still have a full head of hair ... gray, but still all there. lol

Keep hanging tough. We have better days coming our way.

  6. Excellent news! I've noticed that since I've stopped taking mtx in december (due to baby-making) my hair is gradually losing it's curl. I have to admit that this makes me sad, though not enough to go back on it :)

Wren, I know that hair grows much more in the summer, though I never thought of how much I shed and when. I guess we might be like dogs, lol!

  7. Here's to luxurious locks! The loss of hair for a woman is downright scary. Cathy, it's been so wonderful to read of your new abilities. I'm so happy that you have been able to join your man for rides on your bike.

I have a couple of awards for you at my blog. I think you may have already received one of them from Lana. But I so enjoy your blog and your writing that I had to doubly award you!

  8. Yay! I'm glad you're not shedding so much hair. Actually, I have been shedding less lately, too - like Wren said, maybe the change in the weather has something to do with it as well. Either way, I am not complaining!
