Rheumatoid arthritis results from this ride: My wrists and shoulders were stiff and sore along the ride, but everyone else complained about the same thing, so perhaps it wasn't RA but just having my body in one position for too long. Otherwise, no problems! My body feels strong!
You are doing so many great things despite RA! You should be very proud of yourself.
ReplyDeleteLana, I am. It feels great to get out and live life!
DeleteWhat a wonderful ride. Thanks for sharing the great photos. I can't believe Alexander is so tall now!
ReplyDeleteCarla,
DeleteAlexander will be a senior this year. Hard to believe!
How wonderful! Last summer I got an adult trike and rediscovered the joys of cycling everywhere :) My husband is a runner and I often bike as he runs. He's doing an ultra-marathon in September so this weekend we are doing 30km. I'm a little nervous, but I did 21km last weekend and am starting to trust in my capabilities more and more. Thanks for some additional inspiration!
ReplyDeletePony, you just motivated me! Yay for you and good luck! I hope you post about your ride.
DeleteBeing able to feel strong is such an empowering and inflammation-fighting feeling. Go, Cathy, go! (Did you know that as i was reading this post I was vicariously cycling with you? :) )
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Not only is it cooler at night, but there's a lot less traffic with which to contend. Plus, you get that all important perspective change! :)
What a great activity to do "en famille".
Marianna,it was so fun!
DeleteLooks like really fun, Cathy! Sad to hear about the body ache but, hey, it sure looks all worth the pain. I love the photos especially the "Waiting for the sun to rise" one. Would love to be there in person, how good must that have felt.
ReplyDeleteIron Woman! How awesome, you have motivated me to get my bike out and ride a little bit this weekend. When you're having fun a little bit of extra pain is okay.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to read of your achievements! You continue to inspire!
