Self-Care with a Chronic Illness: Take a Photo

It's Arthritis Awareness Month! This month I am challenging you to take a little time each day and practice better self-care. Each day in May, I plan to share one simple way you can show yourself some love and appreciation.

Take a Photo. We take photos all the time, but today, take a photo that is for your eyes only. Don't share it. We share so much of our world that this photo is for your enjoyment only. Take it of something that makes your heart absolutely happy. It could your loves doing something they do every day, a beautiful flower, the sun setting...anything! Just make sure it makes you happy. Then view often.

  1. I'm not much of a photographer but I have a stupid cat video that for some reason makes me laugh out loud, not only when I see it, but just whenever I think of it. Regardless of how crappy I might be feeling, I always just burst out laughing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95-SGhIeA9k Thanks again for the commitment to these wonderful self-care moments.

    1. Oh no! Poor cat. There have been a few times when Izzy has missed her aim and I feel so bad. She gets up like, "I planned that."

I am not a great photographer either but that's okay because the intention is just to find something that makes you happy. I like snapping pictures of my kids when they don't know it, especially when they are hanging out together. Every single time I look at them, I smile.

  2. My grandson dancing makes me laugh so hard every time I see it. You have got to love dancing in the aisle of the department store. I adore kid pics, I always have.
